The team is led by Javed Ahmedjee, the founder, and CEO of NJ Energy. He is a passionate and inspiring leader with a diversified local and international exposure in financial, manufacturing, and energy sectors across the multiple geographies (Pakistan, Africa, Europe). His focus remained on strategizing, managing, transforming, streamlining, upgrading, and developing businesses while delivering consistent results; driving partnerships: developing people; improving, simplifying, & standardizing processes; focusing on risk management, compliance, and corporate governance. He also actively participated in mergers and acquisition transactions across Middle East and Africa.
Previously, he served Puma Energy Pakistan, as its CEO and successfully delivered transformation journey whereby converting a sick unit into a commercially viable business. He strategized and navigated holistic transformation of the company by delivering consistent growth, managed efficient and regulatory compliant supply chain/logistics and storage terminals, embedding safety culture, improve quality standards, implementing and improving ESG, laid the foundation for digital future expansion, delivered uninterrupted supplies and profitability despite serious working capital & economic challenges.
Javed is presently serving on the Board of Puma Energy Pakistan (an Oil Marketing Company with over 700 retail outlets) as the Vice Chairman. He is also contributing as the Trustee of the largest and oldest port of the country (KPT) and the board member of a Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry. While being associated with a renowned group (comprises of two oil refineries, OM business, SPM) in a senior leadership role, contributed significant progress in a short stint. Javed as the CEO of a full fledge brokerage firm, conducted an overhaul of business model.
In a leading global pharmaceutical company, during his sixteen years of association, he held senior leadership roles including Director Finance, IT and Logistics in Pakistan, Regional Director of Africa & its Director Project in London in its Head Quarters, where he consistently and actively delivered by driving sales growth, increasing operating leverage, improving financial efficiency & return on investment while participating in balancing risk and opportunities in a region with a volatile mix of war, revolution, economic degeneration, and socio-political upheaval. Built a simplified and structured Finance to provide a best in class, customer focused and cost-effective services supporting growth of the business.
He started his career joining a leading multinational bank post completion of his article ship with A. F. Ferguson & Co (a member firm of the PwC network).
He served as member of the board of directors of a number of listed & unlisted companies in Pakistan, Morocco & Kenya. He has also served in various committees of leading organizations and associations.
Javed is presently serving on the Board of Puma Energy Pakistan (an Oil Marketing Company with over 700 retail outlets) as the Vice Chairman. He is also contributing as the Trustee of Karachi Port Trust and the board member of a Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry. Javed is also the founder & CEO of Enn & Jay Consultants (with a consulting niche in acquiring and transforming companies in multiple sectors).
He has attended extensive leadership and business programs including at London Business School and Lahore University of Management Sciences.
Javed is a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
